Canada Day Picnic

Bastille Day is tomorrow, which reminded me that I had better post these photos.  We celebrated Canada Day with our friend Laeka, her American friend, and some of her extended family.  We enjoyed a fabulous picnic spread and all that Parc Monceau had to offer.

These Canadian Monkeys were great advertising and we met a few Canadians--plus a French family moving to Montreal for a year.  Thanks to Laeka's thoughtful friend, we had some Canadian flags to give the French family. 

We celebrated the 4th of July by putting a toothpick flag in our strawberries on Canada Day

What is this pensive picnicker thinking?  Perhaps about all the cherry pie she is going to eat in Wisconsin later this summer, or maybe about all the trees she is planning on climbing.

We showed off our new spiral tool.  Sylvia even did a picnic-side demo.  Meme purchased these and then left money behind for us to buy our own.  Thanks!

Here is the display at the market
At the outdoor market there are often people selling kitchen gadgets; t is like the shopping channel live.  This guy was throwing potato spirals into hot oil and then handing these deep fried treats to potential customers.

Thank you all for a wonderful picnic.  Maybe we can do it again next year.
