Bretagne

The day after school let out, we rented a car and drove to Brittany.  Brittany is the part of France that sticks out into the ocean, and it is where many people from the city escape the heat.  We stayed in the Morbihan District, which is kind of south and central.  We rented a gîte for the week.  Gîtes are self catering cottages, which are popular among French and British vacationers.  We were looking for a little green space and we found it.
The owners of this gîte are busy refurnishing the barn to be their house and another gîte that is next door to us.  They were a lovely retired couple and gave us a warm welcome.  The husband was definitely living his dream.  He was still convincing his wife.
We rented a hybrid Toyota hatchback, which I don't think is available in North America.

I will continuing posting about our week in Bretagne.  We are grateful to be home safe and sound.  We miraculously managed to miss the Paris weekend traffic jam.  Tomorrow is Bastille Day and everyone was at the grocery store preparing for the holiday.
