Michelle and Robert come for a visit

Pierre's brother Robert and our lovely sister-in-law Michelle came for a visit.  They are moving from Wellington, New Zealand to Amman, Jordan and to begin their journey the are doing a European/North American tour.  You can read more about their adventures here: http://leblancoverseas.blogspot.fr/  If you have kids and are moving to Jordan, I hear the American school there will have a couple of stellar new teachers:

After dinner we took a walk.  It is very bright here until 10:00 or so

Michelle's Mom came to celebrate her birthday.  She lives near London and we were very happy to celebrate her birthday and to share her cake.

Michelle is very patient and a great playmate.  She taught a whole class of kids Sylvia's age this year.

It is  high tourist season and the Louvre was an overheated zoo:

We walked to the library where we found lots of books and Robert and Michelle found some guide books on Jordan.

We celebrated Michelle's July birthday with pizza and pasta

The night before M and R arrived, we had a wonderful meal with Michi Merk.  The girls were charmed by Michi and by her apartment with a loft.  I had my first  kir royale (of many, I hope) and Michi made us all many crepes with a crepe maker right at the table!  When we got home it was late and the girls finally got to see the Eiffel Tower with lights.
Michi's sister, Susi, lived with my family in Utah during my last year of high school.  The marvelous Merks have been trying to shake us ever since.  Michi even moved from Germany to Paris.  Unfortunately, I was too busy enjoying the company, the kir, and the crepes to take any photos.
