Happy Valentine's Day!
Mix thoroughly:
3/4 cup softened butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Then stir in:
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
2 and 1/2 cups flour
Chill for a short time (I don't always do this), roll, cut, and put on ungreased cookie sheets for 6-8 minutes @400 degrees Fahrenheit. Frost or sugar if you like
Thirteen years ago, I asked my mom to e-mail me all of her Christmas cookie recipes. This is a recipe that we tend to pull out for most holidays. I have a terrifyingly large collection of cookie cutters. I don't know who Ethel was.
