We enjoyed the girls' February break by visiting Southern Spain. Pierre, as usual, was a fabulous trip planner. We flew into Malaga, but did not see much of it before we hit the road. The foothills around Malaga reminded me of the foothills around Salt Lake City, except that if you looked closely most of the scrub was actually olive trees.
On our way to Seville, we stopped at a park called Torcal de Antequera. The rock formations reminded me of the fabulous rock formations in Southern Utah, and that made me very happy. There was a nice visitors center with a Dutch man, who lived in Spain and spoke six languages, at the welcome desk.
We drove up many kilometers of twisty road to reach the park. It was cold and windy at the top. It had rained the night before and our pants were pretty muddy by the time we reached the end.
We saw this herd of mountain goats in the distance as we drove into the park. Sylvia was very disappointed that we didn't see any on the hike. Luckily, they chose just as we were leaving to cross the road and we got a good look at these cuties.
