Where is Pierre on this fabulous vacation? Home working.
We are glad to be back with him now.
As we drove down the road to the cottage, Sylvia said, "I feel like I am going to paradise."
Lillian and I agreed.
A paradise with goofy hats. Who is behind these shenanigans? Grambee, of course.
My cousin dropped by to visit with her two little girls and Grambee sprung into action with paper hat creation. My girls joined in and helped to keep the little girls entertained.

We also visited the tiny local library. There, my second cousin once removed did a fabulous kids' program including an Egyptian Cinderella tale and a chance to be wrapped in toilet paper to look like a mummy. She was fantastic.
Yes, in the summer, these woods are thick with relatives.
We went to the lighthouse that is now a museum in the State Park. Because it is way up on a bluff, the tower is not very high. It is also a very nice house for the time and is furnished with period pieces.
Eagle Bluff Lighthouse opened in 1868. The historical society has some diaries of the lighthouse keepers that provide detailed descriptions of everyday life. One keeper had 7 sons and carved a yoke for each one so that they could each carry two buckets of water at a time up the cliff to the lighthouse. Isn't running water marvelous?

Grambee helped Sylvia make some environmentally friendly bug spray as one of the steps to earn a badge for her new Brownie vest. This year Sylvia will be a Brownie and Lillian will be a Junior.
