Girl Scout Camp Out 2014

Junior Troop 35

American Girl Scouts in Paris has added a lot to our time in Paris.  Lillian's leader was fantastic and Lil made some great friends.  This year we went on our second camp out on the grounds of the chateau owned by the Scout de France.  Sylvia's leader is moving back to the states any day now and they opted for a pajama party in town.  I hope that the hostess will send me some photos I can share.

This is the bridging ceremony.  

The girls who are moving up a level go through the bridge and the other girls hold up their arms for them to go through. 

    SWAPS are pins that girls make and trade.  We just happened to swap our SWAPS in a lovely green field with a chateau on the horizon.

Songs were sung.  Skits were done.

 The girls made foil packet dinners that we cooked on the fire.  They were tasty.

We had to teach some of these girls the art of the s'more.  This Australian/French lovely seems to have figured it out.

I am so grateful for people who volunteer their time (especially when it benefits my kids (and me))!.  The first few months of our time here were tough and Girl Scouts definitely helped us.

 

 Six girls (one is missing) slept in this three to four person tent.  They were thrilled.  Ghost stories were told and not much sleep was had.

This was the first of many goodbyes.  It will not be easy.  We are so glad we had the opportunity to spend time with these fantastic girls and their marvelous mamas.
