Young Authors' Fiction Festival

Lillian won second place out of all of the grade 4 (CM1) participants.

Each year The American Library in Paris holds a fiction contest for school age kids (kindergarten to grade 12).   For more details click  here.  The finalists are invited to an awards ceremony where they learn which award they have won (honorable mention-1st prize).

Each winner received a bookmark with comments from the judges.  (I know "a news reporter with a twist," doesn't quite work, but I appreciate it anyway.)  The library staff and a dedicated volunteers make the contest possible.  It is a great event and a lovely awards ceremony.  Lillian was thrilled and we, of course, were very proud.

 Sylvia sat in the front row and cheered on her sister.

 

The library is near the Eiffel Tower and the walk home is crazy this time of year.  The tourists are taking over the sidewalks.  

One month until the movers put everything we own back into a shipping container!
